Project Nissan Skyline GTS25T

With all the extra power the car was really becoming a handful when pushing hard and the tires where starting to wear, traction was non existent in first and halfway though second so new tires were purchased. I decided on Hankook Ventus Sport K104's after hearing many good things about them at $185 per corner these tires are great value for money. Traction was improved a lot but when accelerating on smooth road surfaces wheel-spin still occurs in first and second, corning grip was fantastic especially in the dry.

I was never happy with the way the car sat it just wasn’t low enough, I wanted that low look, improved handling, but I didn’t want to compromise ride quality. Off to SAU for some research, JDM suspension was said to be to hard for Australian conditions, ride quality and traction was going to be hampered if I installed this suspension. So I decided on a group buy from the forums this consisted of whiteline springs and Bilstein shocks which where height adjustable, this sounded like a good around package for my needs so I ordered the suspension and received it a week later.

Installing was relatively easy but the back seat needed to be removed to do the rear thanks again to Shultz for the help he gave me and for the use of the workshop. The Skyline looked much better with its lower look and handling was greatly improved, turn in was more direct and the Skyline stayed flatter through the corners. Ride quality was still good, a little firmer than before but harsh bumps were absorbed better than the stock setup.

Over the time I’ve had the car I decided to upgrade the stock stereo system, nothing major but I replaced the stock head unit with a clarion MP3 player. The rear speakers were replaced too but I left the factory front splits as they sounded fine. I also replaced the handbrake and gear stick boots with new leather items as the old ones were worn badly. The stock gear knob was also worn so I replaced it with a nifty looking Nismo one.

I decided to put the SAFC and boost gauge into the glove as I think it looks messy having these things mounted in the cockpit area. To enhance the look from the outside the windows were tinted with the darkest legal tint and the orange side indicators where replaced with nismo clear ones.
